Tarragon Whiskey Sour

In the mood for a bright, herbal, velvety libation? Grab yourself some Tarragon and some Uncle Nearest 1856...


HOME BAR NETWORK ORIGINAL RECIPE


TARRAGON WHISKEY SOUR 

  • 2 oz Uncle Nearest 1856

  • 1 oz Lemon Juice⁣

  • 1 oz Tarragon Syrup** ⁣

  • 1 Egg White⁣

  • 3 Dashes Orange Bitters⁣ ⁣

  • Add all ingredients to a shaker filled with ice and shake until well-chilled.

  • Strain out all ingredients, dump the ice and shake again, in a circular motion for 20 seconds to whip the egg white into a foam.

  • Pour over a few new ice cubes in a chilled Old Fashioned Glass and garnish with a sprig of Tarragon.


**Tarragon Syrup

  • Remove the leaves of 4-6 sprigs of Tarragon.

  • Heat 1 cup of Demerara sugar and 1 cup of filtered water and stir until sugar dissolves.

  • Once sugar is dissolved, add tarragon, remove pot from heat and cover.

  • Let steep for a few hours or overnight.

  • Strain syrup and store in a mason jar or airtight container. Will last 1 week refrigerated. ⁣
